Mouvement de passage brings dance to the everyday life of CHSLD residents as it takes the shape of an improvised walkabout. Dancers and a musician walk from room to room to meet residents, particularly those who are non-autonomous or who are dying and cannot participate in the establishment’s regular activities. The proposed dance and music are inspired by the residents and their surroundings, by movements, reactions, attitudes, atmosphere and living spaces. This allows to adapt the performance to the situation and create a close contact with patients. Dancers listen and adapt to their rhythm, their creativity. They create a relationship with the residents and interact with them. Art becomes a vehicle for emotions and sharing, and can be in service of the residents by offering them a creative experience that can become a part of their everyday life.
